✅ Lids for all BAUER container series ✅ 2-part · 4-part · 1-part ✅ Lockable in position · open on one or two sides ✅ Castor sets in polyamide & solid rubber

Lids – a precise fit for every container size

Every container has its matching lid – from small BSK 30 containers to the 5 m³ large-volume containers BKC 500. The lids are 2-part (most series) or 4-part (large and very wide containers) and can be opened on two sides or one side. When folded open, they latch in place so that the lid does not fall shut during filling.

What do I need a lid for?

Lids protect the container contents from weather, dust, splash water and contamination – important when bulk materials or chips are stored temporarily until disposal. With lockable versions (e.g. FB 1000 with a padlock), unauthorised access is additionally prevented. Lids are also mandatory when water-polluting bulk materials are stored outdoors.

Castor sets – move containers easily

Castor sets enable ground-level moving of tipping and chip containers without a forklift – by hand or push force. Available in polyamide (125, 350 and 450 kg per castor) for hard hall floors and solid rubber for softer floors and quieter operation. Choose the right castor material depending on the container size and operating conditions.

Original BAUER accessories

All lids and castor sets are original BAUER accessories and precisely matched to the respective container series – exact-fit mountings, correct installation dimensions, matched load capacities. When ordering, always state the container type, as lids do not fit universally. When in doubt, our specialist team advises which lid belongs to the respective container.

The right accessory for your container

🔍

Finding the right lid

Lids are container-specific – there is no universal lid. Every lid is precisely matched to a specific container type and size. The product designation always names the compatible container: e.g. "lid for type GU 500, SGU 50" fits the tipping container GU 500 and the chip container SGU 50. Before ordering, check the exact container type and size.

🔓

2-part, 4-part or 1-part?

2-part lid: two halves, open on one or two sides – standard for most containers. 4-part lid: four panels, for very wide or large containers (BK 150, EXPO 2100, BKC series) – easier to handle with large lid surfaces. 1-part lid: for SR/SRE containers, resting loosely and removable – the simplest design.

📌

Opening on one side vs. two sides

One-sided: only one half can be opened – simpler construction, less expensive. For containers that are always filled from the same side. Two-sided: both halves can be opened independently – more flexibility when filling from different sides. For containers that have changing accessibility or are filled in tight space conditions.

🔒

Lid with padlock

Individual lid versions are equipped with a padlock opening (e.g. FB 1000 galvanised). This enables the container to be locked – important when the contents are to be protected from unauthorised access or when operational safety requirements prescribe a lockable container. The padlock itself is not included in the scope of delivery.

🎡

Polyamide or solid-rubber castors?

Polyamide castors: hard plastic, very load-bearing (up to 450 kg/castor), abrasion-resistant – ideal for smooth concrete floors and frequent use. Somewhat louder than rubber. Solid-rubber castors: softer, quieter, cushion impacts – better for uneven floors and areas with noise-protection requirements. Lower load capacity than polyamide. For heavy containers, always check the load capacity of the castor (125/350/450 kg) against the container weight plus filling.

⚠️

Caution: the lid prevents stackability

With the stacking-tipper series (BSK 30/55/70/90/150/200), the fitted lid makes the container no longer stackable – the lid mountings on the top are occupied by the lid. Anyone who regularly stacks containers empty should remove the lid before stacking or stack containers without a lid and store the lid separately. With all other series (NK, BK, GU, EXPO, etc.), stackability is not affected.

Frequently asked questions about accessories for attachments

The lid designation always names the compatible container type and size – e.g. "2-part lid for type GU 500, SGU 50". The decisive factors are the exact container type (BSK, NK, BK, GU, EXPO, etc.) and the size identifier (30, 50, 75, 100, etc.). Many lids fit several similar series at the same time. When in doubt, simply tell us the type and size of your container – we will help you find the right lid.
Stacking tippers of the BSK series (and BSL, BSS) have special mountings on the top into which the bottom edge of the container stacked above engages – this enables safe stacking. The lid rests on precisely these mountings and occupies them. This means no further container can be placed on top. Solution: remove the lid before stacking and store it separately. All other container series (NK, BK, GU, BKM, EXPO, VD, etc.) have different stacking mountings that are not affected by the lid.
A lid is useful or necessary when: containers are placed outdoors and the contents have to be protected from rain, snow and contamination. Water-polluting bulk materials or chips with coolant residues are stored (mandatory under AwSV for outdoor storage). The contents are to be secured against unauthorised access (version with a padlock). Dusty materials have to be enclosed (occupational safety, dust exposure). Or operational hygiene regulations prescribe a covered container.
The total load capacity of the castor set must carry the total weight of the container's own weight plus filling. A set usually consists of 4 castors. Example: container 100 kg own weight + 500 kg filling = 600 kg total, divided by 4 castors = 150 kg per castor. The castor set with 125 kg/castor would be too weak – the 350 kg/castor set is correct. For heavy fillings with metal chips, always choose the 350 or 450 castor set. For light bulk materials (wood chips, plastic granulate), the 125 castor set is sufficient.
Yes – the castor sets are designed as retrofit accessories. They are fastened to the base frame of the container. It is important that the castor set is designed for the respective container type – BAUER offers different castor sets for tipping containers, chip containers and folding-bottom containers (type FB). The mounting points are standardised, but the castor sets are not universal for all series. State the exact container type before ordering.
Lockable in the folded-open position: the lid latches in the open position so that it does not fall shut during filling. This is a handling-comfort function and has nothing to do with security against unauthorised access. Lockable with a padlock: the lid can be closed and secured with a padlock. This prevents the lid from being opened without a key. This version is only available for specific container types (e.g. FB 1000 galvanised). The padlock is to be procured separately.
