Which pump fits which application?

🚜

Agriculture & farmyard

For the farm fuel station, electric diesel pumps in 12 V or 230 V with a flow meter are recommended. Rotary pumps are ideal as a backup without mains power.

🔧

Workshop & service

In car workshops, oil pumps with a hose reel and air-operated pumps for the fresh-oil system are standard. Drum pumps for 200-litre drums.

🚛

Fleet

For multi-user operation with cost control: diesel dispensers with a fuel terminal (TECALEMIT HDA or PIUSI B.SMART) – driver identification included.

🏭

Industry & trade

Air-operated pumps and double-diaphragm pumps for ATEX zones or aggressive media. High delivery rate, no mains power required.

💧

AdBlue® / urea

For SCR systems and commercial vehicles: dedicated AdBlue pumps made from food-grade materials – 12 V for trucks, 230 V for stationary stations.

Electric vs. air-operated

Electric (12 V/24 V/230 V): simple, steady, for most applications. Air-operated: no mains power needed, ATEX-suitable, higher pressure for viscous media.

Frequently asked questions about pumps

For diesel, electric pumps (12 V, 24 V or 230 V) and rotary pumps as a manual alternative are suitable. For stationary on-site fuelling stations with multi-user operation, diesel dispensers with a fuel terminal are the best solution. Look out for self-priming and the delivery rate (l/min) according to your needs.
Electric pumps are easy to connect, deliver steadily and are sufficient for most applications. Air-operated pumps are ideal where there is no mains power, in explosion-hazard areas (ATEX) or for high-viscosity media that require higher pressure.
For AdBlue® (32.5% urea solution), dedicated AdBlue pumps made from food-grade materials are required – standard fuel pumps are not suitable. We stock AdBlue pumps in 12 V (for direct truck draw-off), 24 V and 230 V, as well as complete dispensing stations.
A double-diaphragm pump (AODD) is an air-operated pump with two opposing diaphragms. It is self-priming, can handle solids and is suitable for aggressive chemicals, acids, alkalis and explosion-hazard zones. No electricity, low-maintenance, dry-run resistant.
No – diesel pumps are not suitable for petrol. Petrol and other highly volatile fuels require special ATEX-suitable pumps with a spark-free design. For petrol and kerosene, we offer dedicated petrol-pump categories with the appropriate safety approvals.
It depends on the application: hand pumps manage 20–40 l/min, electric pumps 40–80 l/min, diesel dispensers 50–150 l/min. For occasional refuelling of 1–3 vehicles a day, 40–60 l/min is enough. For large fleets or quick refuelling of construction machinery, 80–150 l/min is recommended.
