Pneumatic Double Diaphragm Pumps for chemicals, oils & aggressive media

Pneumatic double diaphragm pumps (AODD) for the safe transfer of oils, fuels, waste oil, AdBlue, chemicals, acids and bases – self-priming, dry-run resistant, ATEX-approved. No mains power required. From SAMOA, GRACO, MATO and PIUSI.

✅ No power – compressed air only ✅ Self-priming & dry-run resistant ✅ ATEX-approved versions available ✅ SAMOA · GRACO · MATO · PIUSI

SAMOA Directflo®

DF 30 and DF 50 – compact double diaphragm pumps for general industrial applications. For dosing, transferring and extracting oils, fuels and aqueous media.

DF 30 · DF 50 Oils & fuels Industry

GRACO AODD Pumps

Versatile double diaphragm pumps for water, antifreeze, oil and AdBlue – with high free passage also for solids-laden media. Also available with dual inlet for special applications.

High free passage AdBlue Solids

PRO ONE – EX Version

ATEX-certified double diaphragm pumps for diesel, kerosene and oil – PRO ONE 15 with 50 l/min and PRO ONE 25 with 160 l/min. For use in Ex zones and with flammable liquids.

ATEX 50–160 l/min Diesel · Kerosene

PIUSI & MATO Oil Pumps

PIUSI MA130/MA140 and MATO DP-60 specifically for high-viscosity oils and waste oil – diaphragm pumps reliably handle viscous media that would overload gear or centrifugal pumps.

Which double diaphragm pump suits which application?

⚗️

Chemicals & Acids

Double diaphragm pumps are the first choice for aggressive media – acids, bases, solvents. Material selection is crucial: PP, PVDF or stainless steel, seals in PTFE or EPDM.

Waste Oil & High Viscosity

The PIUSI MA130/MA140 are specifically designed for waste oil and high-viscosity oils. Diaphragm pumps handle viscous media that would overload gear or centrifugal pumps.

🔥

ATEX & Ex Zones

The PRO ONE EX versions are ATEX-certified for diesel, kerosene and flammable liquids in Ex zones. No electric motor – no spark risk, intrinsically safe.

💧

AdBlue & Water

The GRACO double diaphragm pump for AdBlue is made from food-grade materials – for urea solution 32.5%, water, antifreeze and other aqueous media.

🏭

High Throughput

For large transfer volumes: the PRO ONE 25 with 160 l/min or the GRACO with dual inlet for continuous operation in industrial filling and transfer systems.

🔌

No Power Available

All double diaphragm pumps operate purely on compressed air – ideal for outdoor areas, mobile use or locations without mains power. A compressed air network of 4–7 bar is sufficient.

Frequently Asked Questions about Double Diaphragm Pumps

A pneumatic double diaphragm pump (AODD) has two opposing diaphragms that are alternately moved by compressed air. When one diaphragm draws in, the other pushes out – this creates a continuous, pulsating flow. The principle is low-maintenance, dry-run resistant and handles solids-laden or high-viscosity media.
Double diaphragm pumps offer several advantages over electric pumps: no mains power required – runs on compressed air. ATEX-approved – no spark risk in Ex zones. Dry-run resistant – the pump is not damaged if it runs dry. Self-priming – draws medium from lower-lying containers. Handles aggressive media – acids, bases, solvents that would damage electric pumps.
Most double diaphragm pumps require an operating pressure of 4 to 7 bar at the compressed air connection – corresponding to the standard compressed air network in workshops and industrial plants. The output pressure of the pump roughly corresponds to the applied compressed air pressure.
PP (polypropylene) for aqueous acids, bases, AdBlue and water. PVDF for aggressive solvents and chemicals. Aluminium for fuels and oils (not for acids). Stainless steel for food-grade and high-purity media. Seals: PTFE for almost all chemicals, EPDM for aqueous media, Viton for fuels and solvents.
The free passage describes the maximum diameter of solid particles the pump can handle without clogging. Pumps with high free passage have larger valve balls and channels – ideal for sludgy, solids-laden or fibrous media such as dirty water, paints with pigments or media with sediment.
Yes – double diaphragm pumps are ideal for waste oil. Waste oil is highly viscous, can contain solids and is too thick for many electric pumps. The PIUSI MA130 and MA140 are specifically designed for high-viscosity oils and waste oil and pump reliably even at low temperatures.
