STW 100 spreader trailer – compact & flexible
The STW 100 holds 105 litres and spreads sand or salt up to 6 metres wide – driven by the wheel rotation while travelling, no power connection or hydraulics needed. It can be hitched to forklifts and small tractors and is suitable for smaller areas such as works entrances, footpaths and yard areas.
STW 260 spreader trailer – for large areas
With 260 litres of capacity and up to 12 metres of spreading width, the STW 260 offers considerably more capacity – ideal for large works premises, car parks and access roads. Also wheel-driven and hitchable to forklifts and tractors. Designed with a 340 kg load capacity for a full fill with heavy spreading material.
SH spreader – hydraulic & precise
The SH spreader hangs on the fork tines and is driven by the forklift hydraulics – independently of the travel speed. The integrated agitator prevents the spreading material from caking, even with damp salt. The spreading width and inclination angle are adjustable from the mast. For sand, salt and grit up to a 500 kg fill.
Spreading width & choice of spreading material
The spreading width determines how many lanes are covered per pass – 6 m (STW 100) for footpaths and access ways, 9 m (SH) for wide roads, 12 m (STW 260) for car parks and open areas. Sand, salt and grit are all suitable as spreading material – salt thaws ice faster, sand improves grip permanently, grit is more environmentally friendly.

The STW spreader trailer is hitched on and driven by the wheel rotation while travelling – simple, affordable, also usable on tractors. The SH spreader hangs on the fork tines and runs off the forklift hydraulics – independently of the travel speed, with an agitator and an adjustable spreading width. The STW for easy use, the SH for professional, precise winter service.
Which spreading width do I need?
6 m (STW 100): for footpaths, entrances, narrow works ways. 9 m (SH): for roads, access roads, medium-sized open areas. 12 m (STW 260): for car parks, wide works roads, large open areas. As a guide: one lane of a normal access road is about 3–4 m wide – a 6 m spreading width reliably covers one lane, a 12 m width spreads three lanes at once.
Sand, salt or grit?
Salt: thaws ice and snow chemically – a fast effect, even at temperatures down to about -15 °C. Harmful to vegetation and concrete with continuous use. Sand: improves grip immediately without a thawing effect – for footpaths and areas with a sensitive surface. Grit: more environmentally friendly than salt, good grip, has to be swept up after winter. All three spreading materials can be processed with the equipment in the range.
Drive: wheel rotation vs. hydraulics
The wheel-driven STW spreads proportionally to the travel speed – the faster you drive, the more spreading material is applied. This is simple and reliable, but the spread rate changes with the speed. The hydraulically driven SH spreads independently of the travel speed – a constant spread rate, even when stationary or travelling slowly. For precise and even winter service, the hydraulic drive is superior.
Agitator – why is it important?
Salt and damp spreading material tend to cake and clump – especially when the hopper is partly filled or the equipment stands for a longer time. Without an agitator, the outlet clogs and the equipment spreads unevenly or not at all. The integrated agitator of the SH spreader reliably prevents this and also allows the use of damp or coarse spreading material without interruptions.
Mind the load capacity & fill
The load capacity indicates how heavy the spreading material may be at most. Salt weighs about 900–1000 kg/m³, sand about 1400–1600 kg/m³. With a full STW 100 (105 L of sand), that is already about 150–168 kg – close to the 135 kg load capacity. So do not fill completely with sand. The STW 260 (340 kg) and SH (500 kg) have more reserve. The forklift must additionally carry the equipment's own weight.
