Silo containers for forklifts SGS & SGK – 0.5 to 1 m³ · front-side emptying · stackable
Silo containers for the collection, transport and metered front-side emptying of bulk materials – granulate, chips, sand, grain and similar materials. Two series: SGS (from €1,023, simple design) and SGK (from €1,280, with a front-side flap 1050×650 mm that is conveniently released from the forklift seat via a pull cable). Available in 0.5, 0.75 and 1 m³ capacity. Stackable up to three high.
SGS – simple standard design
The SGS series is the cheaper basic design with a funnel-shaped steel container, a 30° base slope for residue-free emptying and fork-entry brackets for forklift, crane and pallet truck. Stackable for space-saving storage. Front-side emptying – for operations where the emptying opening is operated manually.
SGK – flap via pull cable from the forklift seat
The SGK series additionally has a front-side flap (1050×650 mm) that can be conveniently released from the forklift seat via a pull cable – the driver does not have to get out. This speeds up the emptying process considerably and increases safety. Also stackable three high, transportable by crane, forklift and pallet truck.
Suitable materials & funnel shape
The funnel-shaped container with a 30° base slope reliably guides the bulk material to the front-side opening – even fine-grained or slightly adhesive material drains completely. Suitable for granulate, wood chips, metal chips, sand, gravel, grain, pellets and comparable bulk materials. Not suitable for sticky or wet materials.
Pickup & stackability
All silo containers are equipped with fork-entry brackets for forklifts and mountings for the crane hook – the container can be transported by forklift, crane or pallet truck. Up to three containers of the same type can be stacked empty on top of each other, which saves considerable space in cramped operating areas.
The right silo container for your operation
SGS or SGK – what is the difference?
SGS: standard design with front-side emptying – the opening is operated manually. Cheaper entry-level solution. SGK: like the SGS, but with a front-side flap (1050×650 mm) that is released via a pull cable from the forklift seat – the driver can empty the container without getting out. Extra cost about €250–280 per model. For frequent use, the SGK is the more economical solution.
Which volume to choose?
0.5 m³: for smaller batches and more cramped storage areas – more compact in height (1025/935 mm). 0.75 m³: the middle range, the most common choice for general industrial use. 1 m³: for high throughput, maximum load capacity 1500 kg. All variants have the same base area (1000×1200 mm) – only the height varies, which makes rack storage easier.
Why a 30° base slope?
The 30° base slope is deliberately chosen: flatter angles lead to material accumulating in the corners, steeper angles increase the container height unnecessarily. At 30°, the majority of all practically relevant bulk materials (granulate, chips, sand, grain) flow completely to the front-side opening – without manual assistance. The all-round reinforcement on the funnel prevents deformation even at full filling.
Stackable three high – the space advantage
Three empty silo containers of the same type can be stacked on top of each other and thus occupy only the floor space of a single container. With six models in the operation (e.g. three in use, three empty), only two floor spaces are needed instead of six. Prerequisite: only stack containers of the same series (SGS or SGK) and the same size.
Transport by forklift, crane or pallet truck
All silo containers are equipped with fork-entry brackets for fork tines and crane mountings. This makes them flexible to use with forklift, crane and pallet truck – depending on the available equipment. The pallet truck is suitable for ground-level moves, the forklift for lifting onto rack levels or over containers.
Galvanised or painted?
Galvanised (hot-dip galvanised): lasting corrosion protection – for damp bulk materials (damp sand, wet chips), outdoor use or slightly chemically loading materials. About 9–13 kg extra weight. Painted: 5 colours to choose from (RAL 2000/3000/5012/6011/7005) – good for dry indoor applications and colour coding of different material fractions.
