Push-type grease guns manual high-pressure lubrication – 40 to 300 cc
MATO high-pressure push-type grease guns for the simple manual lubrication of grease nipples and oil points – without a cartridge, without compressed air, without power. Simply fill from the grease supply and press grease in with a pushing motion. In four volume grades (40–300 cc), as a compact PG version or as an oil push-type gun PO for oil and fluid greases. From €11.50.
What is a push-type grease gun?
A push-type grease gun (also a piston push-type gun) is the simplest form of manual grease gun – a cylindrical container with a piston that is pressed against a grease nipple by hand. No lever mechanism, no cartridge, no hose needed. The grease is filled directly from the supply into the gun and pressed into the nipple with a single push.
PT series – standard & large volume
MATO PT series in four volume grades: PT 40C-2 (40 cc, €11.50) for few lubrication points, PT 80-2 (80 cc, €19.90) as the mid-range, PT 150-2 (150 cc, €29.50) as the standard solution, PT 300-2 (300 cc, €32.50) for many lubrication points per fill. All galvanised with a universal and a pointed nozzle.
PG 150-2 – compact version
The MATO PG 150-2 (€32.50) is the more compact version with 150 cc – shorter and handier than the PT 150-2, for close work in hard-to-reach areas and for the toolbox on the go. Also with a universal and a pointed nozzle.
PO 150-2 – oil & fluid greases
The MATO PO 150-2 (€33.50) is the special variant for oil and fluid greases (NLGI 000–0) – normal push-type grease guns are designed for solid grease; the PO 150-2 has a correspondingly adapted seal geometry for low-viscosity lubricants. For oil points, bearing points with an oil fill and centralised lubrication systems with fluid grease.
The right push-type grease gun for your application
Volume by number of lubrication points
40 cc: 1–3 points. 80 cc: 3–8 points. 150 cc: 8–20 points – the most popular format. 300 cc: many points or less frequent refilling. As a guide: approx. 1–3 g of grease per grease nipple with normal lubrication.
Standard PT or compact PG?
PT 150-2 (standard, €29.50) and PG 150-2 (compact, €32.50) have the same fill volume. The PG is shorter – better for close work and the toolbox. The PT for a comfortable grip and a better overview of the grease supply.
Oil and fluid greases – PO 150-2
For oil and fluid greases (NLGI 000–0), use only the PO 150-2. Standard push-type grease guns do not seal sufficiently with low-viscosity media. The PO has adapted piston seals for low-viscosity lubricants.
Both nozzles included
All push-type grease guns are supplied with a universal nozzle (for conical-head nipples DIN 71412) and a pointed nozzle (for oil bores and bearing points without a nipple). Simply switch depending on the lubrication point – no need to buy accessories separately.
Push-type gun vs. lever/battery grease gun
Push-type gun: direct thrust force, no hose, no cartridge, the simplest handling. For few, easily accessible nipples. Lever/battery grease gun: more pressure through the lever, with a hose for hard-to-reach points, more suitable for many nipples and regular lubrication service.
Filling without a cartridge
Push-type grease guns are filled directly with loose grease – pull out the piston, hold the opening in the grease bucket, draw the piston in. No cartridge purchase needed. For cleaner filling from the bucket, an ecoFILL grease filler unit is recommended.
