Fluid management systems

Central oil supply systems for multi-bay workshops – fresh oil (engine, gear, hydraulic oil) is distributed from a drum or IBC via pumps, hose reels and meters directly to every lift bay. Oil dispensing units

Electric and air-operated oil pumps for dispensing engine, gear and hydraulic oil directly from a drum or IBC. Electric pumps for 230V operation in the workshop, air-operated pumps for compressed-air-supplied operation. With meter, dispensing hose and nozzle – for precise oil dispensing per vehicle. Oil disposal units

Mobile used-oil disposal units collect used oil directly at the vehicle during an oil change – by extracting from below or draining from above. Electric and air-operated extraction units, various container sizes (20–100 litres). The collected used oil is then pumped into larger disposal containers. Important: under the AwSV, used oil is hazardous to water – only commission certified disposal companies.

Fuel extraction

Fuel extraction units empty vehicle tanks safely and without residue – before repairs, after misfuelling or for decommissioning. Electric and hand pumps, ATEX-certified versions for explosion-hazard areas (petrol). Important: petrol extraction units must be suitable for EX zone 1 or 2 – do not use standard electric pumps for fuel.

Hose reels

Wall-mounted hose reels keep oil hoses, compressed-air hoses and water hoses tidy and always within reach – retracting automatically via a spring mechanism. Available in various versions: for oil and fuel (with shut-off tap and nozzle), for compressed air, for water and coolant. Hose lengths typically 10–20 m. Recommended for every lift bay in the workshop.

Tyre-pressure technology

PCL tyre-inflation systems for workshop and fleet – from the simple tyre valve connector to the stationary QUBE 2 tyre inflator (€469). PCL is the British industry standard for professional tyre-pressure technology with a ¼" quick coupling. Tyre valve connectors, hose connections and tyre inflators for cars, trucks and construction machinery. Accurate tyre pressure saves fuel and improves safety.

Frequently asked questions about workshop technology

A fluid management system supplies all the lift bays of a workshop centrally with fresh oil – engine, gear and hydraulic oil is fed from drums or IBCs via pumps, lines and hose reels to every workstation. Advantages: no carrying canisters, no risk of mix-ups, automatic consumption recording per dispensing point. As a rule of thumb, a fluid management system is worthwhile from around 3–4 lift bays – below that, the investment is too high relative to the benefit. In larger operations, the system pays for itself quickly through time savings and reduced product loss.
Fuel – petrol in particular – is highly flammable and forms explosive vapours. Special safety requirements therefore apply to fuel extraction: extraction units for petrol must be suitable for ATEX zone 1 or 2 (explosion-hazard areas) – normal electric pumps without explosion protection are prohibited. For diesel, the requirements are lower, as diesel is considerably less volatile. Always ensure adequate ventilation, no open ignition sources nearby, and store extracted fuel in suitable, tightly sealing containers.
Hose reels are designed medium-specifically – the seals and the hose must match the medium: oil and fuel: NBR seals, oil-resistant hose. Compressed air: standard rubber or PVC, max. 15–20 bar. Water and coolant: EPDM seals. Grease: special grease hose reels with a high-pressure line up to 400 bar. Using a compressed-air reel for oil or vice versa is not permitted. Always state the operating pressure and the medium when selecting.
PCL (Pacific Customs Ltd.) is a British manufacturer whose ¼" quick-coupling system has become the worldwide standard in professional tyre-inflation systems. PCL tyre valve connectors clamp onto the tyre valve and hold tight – without having to open the valve manually. There are two main PCL types: Euro Clip-on (screws onto the valve) and One Clip Pro (clamps with one movement). Both have a ¼" female thread or DN-8 hose connection for connecting to the tyre inflator. PCL accessories are compatible across manufacturers.
Under § 3 of the German Used Oil Ordinance, used oil is hazardous waste and must not go into the sewer, onto the ground or into residual waste. Correct disposal: small quantities (private individuals): free of charge at used-oil acceptance points (car workshops, municipal collection points). Commercial quantities: commission a disposal company (often free of charge, as used oil is reprocessed). The used-oil disposal units and extraction units in our range collect used oil safely during the oil change. Never mix used oil with other liquids (water, solvents) – this makes reprocessing more difficult and can trigger disposal costs.
Drum taps are distinguished by thread and application: standard oil drums (200 L) typically have a 2" BSP thread (coarse thread, Mauser type). Smaller openings have 3/4" BSP. Drum taps are available in plastic (for simple applications, low-cost) and steel (for more durable use). For aggressive media (fuel, solvents), use only chemical-resistant materials (steel, PP) – no simple plastic taps. The drum tap should always be fitted with a shut-off mechanism to prevent uncontrolled leakage.
