Folding-bottom containers empty their contents downwards through a folding base – ideal for bulk material, granulate, chips and waste that is to be delivered precisely into a container, skip or machine standing below. Four series from 0.3 to 2 m³: round container RB, flat-bottom container BKB, the narrower FB series and the robust heavy-duty SB series up to 2000 kg.
Round container RB – round & conical
The round containers RB 300 and RB 450 have a round, conical shape with a folding base – this promotes the complete, residue-free discharge of granulate, powder and fine-grained bulk material that sticks in rectangular corners. At Ø 865 mm they fit through standard openings and into tight filling positions.
BKB series – wide & flat
The BKB containers (500, 700, 1000 litres) have a wide, rectangular base of 1040×1200 mm and a large folding-base area – ideal for coarse bulk material that is to be emptied quickly and completely. With load capacities up to 2000 kg, they are also suitable for heavy materials.
FB series – slim & large
The FB series covers 0.5 to 2 m³ in a narrower design (width 840–1245 mm) and is suitable for more cramped standing areas. Load capacities up to 1500 kg. At 2 m³ (FB 2000) it is the largest slim folding-bottom variant – for high throughput without much footprint.
SB series – maximum robustness
The SB series is the most robust design in the range – with load capacities up to 2000 kg and own weights up to 344 kg (galvanised) for continuous use under harsh conditions. From 0.5 to 2 m³ with a uniform base (1035×1310 mm). The heavy construction prevents deformation even under permanent full filling.

The right folding-bottom container for your application
How does folding-base emptying work?
The container is positioned with the forklift over the target container, skip or machine hopper and raised. Via a release mechanism, the base opens – the contents fall vertically downwards into the target container. Precise positioning over the target is the key advantage: no swivelling, no lateral tipping – precise transfer from above.
Round or rectangular?
The round container RB is ideal for fine-grained goods such as granulate, pellets or powder – the conical shape guides the material completely to the centre, no residual material sticks in corners. Rectangular containers (BKB, FB, SB) are more suitable for coarser bulk material and offer more volume. For mixed goods and coarse chips: rectangular. For bulk material that has to drain completely: round.
Which series – BKB, FB or SB?
BKB: wide (1040×1200 mm), low centre of gravity, large folding field – for the fast emptying of coarse goods up to 2000 kg. FB: narrow (840 mm width), for cramped standing areas, up to 2 m³ and 1500 kg. SB: the heaviest construction (up to 344 kg own weight), up to 2000 kg load capacity – for continuous use and the harshest conditions. BKB for standard, SB for heavy-duty, FB when space is tight.
Choosing the volume correctly
Rule of thumb: the volume depends on the batch size of the material to be disposed of. 0.3–0.5 m³: for smaller quantities, compact dimensions. 0.75–1 m³: the most-used range for industrial operations. 1.5–2 m³: for high throughput. Always note: load capacity = volume fill × bulk density. For heavy materials (metal chips, stones), check the load capacity carefully.
Tipping container vs. folding-bottom container
A tipping container tips to the side – the material falls diagonally forward and does not have to be positioned exactly. A folding-bottom container empties vertically downwards – precise transfer into tight hoppers, machines or containers that are not accessible from the side. The folding bottom is the better choice when the target has to be approached from above and there is little lateral clearance.
Galvanised or painted?
Galvanised: lasting corrosion protection – recommended for damp goods, chemically loaded materials and outdoor use. Painted: cheaper, sufficient for dry indoor applications. Extra weight when galvanised: about 4–24 kg depending on the container size. For continuous use with changing goods, always choose galvanised.
