Air-operated pumps for oil, diesel, AdBlue® & explosive media

Piston pumps, double-diaphragm pumps and single-diaphragm pumps from GRACO, PIUSI, MATO, Samoa and TECALEMIT – for the cable-free, spark-free delivery from 200 L drums and IBC containers. Ideal for workshops, industry and explosion-protection areas.

✅ 13 – 220 l/min flow rate ✅ No power connection required ✅ Inherently safe – no electric spark ✅ EX versions for petrol & kerosene

Piston pumps for oil

PIUSI P3.5:1 / P5.5:1 and GRACO LD 3:1 / 5:1 for engine oil, gear oil and high-viscosity lubricating oils from 200 L drums. The transmission ratio determines the oil pressure – 5:1 for SAE 90/140. MATO pneuMATO flexibly selectable with 1:1, 1:3 and 1:5.

Double-diaphragm pumps

GRACO double-diaphragm pumps (57–189 l/min), MATO DP-60 and Samoa Directflo DF 50/100 for diesel, water, antifreeze, AdBlue® and oil. A pulsating volume flow, self-priming up to 8 m, for low- to medium-viscosity media.

EX protection for petrol & kerosene

PIUSI PRO ONE 15 (50 l/min) and PRO ONE 25 (160 l/min) – ATEX-approved double-diaphragm pumps for diesel, petrol and kerosene. Self-priming up to 7 m, max. 7 bar, for hazardous areas zone 1 & 2.

Complete sets & units

TECALEMIT TecPump DP16/36/56 eco as ready-made pump sets with a suction tube, 4 m hose, pressure regulator and oil nozzle. Samoa PumpMaster 2 & 4 as rugged units – ready to operate straight away for the workshop.

Which air-operated pump suits which application?

🔧

Workshop – oil change

For engine oil and lubricants from 200 L drums: TECALEMIT TecPump DP36 eco (3:1) or PIUSI P3.5:1 – fully equipped with a suction tube, hose and oil nozzle. No power connection, no spark risk.

🛢️

High-viscosity oils & gear oil

For oils from SAE 90/140 and used oil: PIUSI P5.5:1 / MA130 or GRACO LD 5:1 – the higher transmission ratio overcomes the resistance of viscous media. PIUSI MA140 for 100 l/min used-oil delivery.

Diesel & fuels

For diesel and heating oil: GRACO double-diaphragm pump 61 l/min or MATO DP-60 – low-pulsation delivery, self-priming. Ideal for fuel transfer without a power connection in warehouses and EX areas.

🔥

Petrol & ATEX areas

For petrol, kerosene and other highly flammable media in EX areas: PIUSI PRO ONE 15 (50 l/min) or PRO ONE 25 (160 l/min) – ATEX-certified, self-priming up to 7 m, max. 7 bar. No electric spark.

💧

AdBlue® & antifreeze

For AdBlue®, antifreeze and coolants: GRACO double-diaphragm for AdBlue® (57 l/min) or Samoa Directflo DF 100 (100 l/min) – made of AdBlue®-resistant materials, for IBC containers and drums.

🏭

Industry & high performance

For large volume flows and continuous operation: GRACO double-diaphragm pump 189 l/min or PIUSI MA140 (100 l/min) – for the oil and lubricant supply of industrial systems straight from the tank or IBC container.

Frequently asked questions about air-operated pumps

Most air-operated pumps work with an inlet pressure of 3–8 bar – which corresponds to a standard workshop compressor. An operating pressure of 5–6 bar is recommended for an optimal flow rate. The minimum pressure varies by model: simple piston pumps (PIUSI P3.5:1) start from 3 bar, diaphragm pumps (Samoa PumpMaster) from 1.5 bar. Please check the data sheet of the desired model.
Piston pumps (PIUSI P series, GRACO LD) are designed for high-viscosity media such as oils and lubricants – the transmission ratio (3:1, 5:1) generates high output pressure. Ideal for oil from 200 L drums. Double-diaphragm pumps (GRACO, MATO DP-60, PIUSI PRO ONE) deliver low- to medium-viscosity media such as diesel, water, AdBlue® and antifreeze – higher flow rates (up to 220 l/min), self-priming, pulsating, suitable for liquids of all kinds.
No – not all air-operated pumps are ATEX-certified. Although pneumatic pumps generate no electric spark, moving parts can produce friction sparks. For explosive atmospheres (zone 1 and 2), only explicitly ATEX-certified pumps are permitted, such as the PIUSI PRO ONE 15 and PRO ONE 25. Standard piston and diaphragm pumps are suitable for normal industrial and workshop applications, but are not automatically EX-approved.
The transmission ratio indicates how much oil pressure is generated per unit of air pressure. 1:1 – for low-viscosity media and fast delivery (highest flow rate). 3:1 – the standard solution for engine oil, hydraulic oil SAE 10–50. 5:1 – for heavy-viscosity oils such as gear oil SAE 90/140, greases or used oil at low temperatures. Rule of thumb: the more viscous the medium and the colder the environment, the higher the ratio to choose.
Piston pumps are placed directly on the drum (suction tube) – no self-priming needed. Double-diaphragm pumps can self-prime up to 7–8 m (depending on the model and medium). The self-priming height decreases as the viscosity of the medium increases. In the dry state (dry suction), the suction heights are lower than with a pre-filled suction line.
The air consumption varies greatly depending on the pump type and operating pressure. Typical values: PIUSI P3.5:1 and P5.5:1 require 200–250 l/min of compressed air. TECALEMIT TecPump DP36 eco around 330 l/min. GRACO double-diaphragm pumps 200–600 l/min depending on the flow rate. A standard workshop compressor (around 10–15 bar tank, 200–400 l/min flow rate) is sufficient for most piston and smaller diaphragm pumps.
