🔨 Accessories for lubrication systems

Grease nipples to DIN 71412 (taper form H1/H2/H3, self-tapping thread), protective caps, mouthpieces (pointed, universal, gripping), high-pressure hoses and couplings. The small accessories that complete every grease gun. From €0.42 apiece.

What's behind the 8 lubrication-system categories?

🔋

Battery grease guns

Cordless battery grease guns with 18V Li-Ion batteries – ideal for mobile use on vehicles, construction machinery and agricultural equipment without a compressed-air supply. MATO Accu-Greaser and Samoa-Hallbauer systems with an AMPShare battery (compatible with the Bosch battery platform). High-pressure hoses, replacement batteries and chargers available as accessories. Ideal for outdoor use and mobile maintenance.

💨

Air-operated lubrication devices

Air-operated lubrication devices for stationary workshop use – fast, high-pressure grease delivery without batteries or cables. Connect to an existing compressed-air supply and use straight away. For vehicle fleets and operations with an existing compressed-air system, this is the most economical solution. Higher delivery rates than hand guns, steady pressure even with viscous grease.

💡

Air-operated grease guns

Air-operated grease guns generate high pressure up to 400 bar for hard-to-reach or heavily loaded lubrication points. Mountable directly on the drum or IBC – no decanting needed. For large grease volumes in continuous use in workshops and industry. Incl. high-pressure hose and dispensing gun. Samoa-Hallbauer and MATO as proven manufacturers.

📦

Grease fillers

Grease fillers fill grease-gun cartridges directly from the drum or IBC – fast, clean, without air pockets. Indispensable when many cartridges are refilled regularly. Avoids the costly purchase of pre-filled disposable cartridges. Saves considerable costs with higher grease consumption – refill grease in a drum costs significantly less than disposable cartridges.

🔧

Grease guns / lubrication devices

Classic lever-action and one-hand grease guns for universal use – from the low-cost eco one-hand gun (€25) to the professional Lube-Shuttle® grease gun (€42+). Max. 400 bar working pressure. For 400 g and 500 g cartridges or loose grease. The Lube-Shuttle® system allows clean, fast cartridge changes without gloves and without grease loss.

🟠

Push presses

Compact high-pressure push presses (40–300 ccm) for the quick re-lubrication of individual lubrication points – operated by pushing the piston, no lever mechanism. Very cheap (from €11.50), rugged, for hard-to-reach spots. With universal and pointed mouthpiece. For the occasional lubrication of individual bearings and joints, the simplest and cheapest solution.

🌸

Grease cartridges

Lube-Shuttle® booster packs in various grease types: multi-purpose grease MULTI basic (–30 to +120°C), graphite grease (–30 to +150°C), EP grease MULTI PLUS. Also standard grease cartridges with lithium multi-purpose grease for classic guns. Empty cartridges for self-filling and closure caps. The right grease is just as important as the right grease gun.

🔨

Accessories for lubrication systems

Grease nipples to DIN 71412 (H1/H2/H3, from €0.42), protective caps, pointed and universal mouthpieces, gripping couplings for D-type grease nipples M10×1, high-pressure hoses and extensions. The accessories that connect the grease gun to every lubrication point – and that are often only missing when they're needed.

Frequently asked questions about lubrication systems & grease guns

Lever-action gun: purely manual, no power or compressed air needed – cheap (from €25), for occasional use and small fleets. Downside: physical effort with many lubrication points. Battery grease gun: cordless, 18V Li-Ion – ideal for mobile outdoor use without a compressed-air supply (construction sites, fields, road vehicles). More expensive (gun + batteries), but quick to use. Air-operated grease gun: the highest delivery rate, steady pressure, direct drum connection – ideal for stationary workshops with a compressed-air system and high grease consumption. Medium investment cost, low operating cost.
The Lube-Shuttle® system from MATO allows clean, fast grease-cartridge changes without gloves and without grease loss. The principle: the cartridge has a follower piston – when inserted, the grease gun's piston pushes the follower forward and the grease is fully expelled. When changing, the empty cartridge is simply pulled out and the full one pushed in – no grease mess. Empty cartridges can be refilled from the drum with a grease filler, which cuts costs considerably compared with disposable cartridges.
The choice of grease depends on temperature, load and application: multi-purpose grease NLGI 2 (lithium): standard for most bearings, joints and rolling bearings – operating range –30 to +120°C. EP grease NLGI 2 (Extreme Pressure): for heavily loaded bearings and gears with shock loads (excavators, presses, agricultural machinery) – contains additives for boundary-friction protection. Graphite grease NLGI 2: for very high temperatures up to +150°C (briefly +200°C) and dry sliding surfaces (brake parts, bolts). Always observe the machine manufacturer's approvals – the wrong grease can damage bearings.
A push press is a compact small-quantity press that dispenses short amounts of grease (40–300 ccm fill volume) under high pressure by pushing the piston by hand. It is cheaper and handier than a lever gun – ideal for: individual, hard-to-reach lubrication points (tight installation positions, small nipples), occasional lubrication of a few bearings, carrying in the toolbox. Downside: only for small quantities, more effort than a lever gun. MATO PT series from €11.50.
DIN 71412 taper grease nipples (also hydraulic grease nipples) are the standard version in vehicle and machine engineering. They have a tapered head with a 60° taper angle. Types: H1 (straight), H2 (45° angled), H3 (90° angled) – the same connection, different angles for various installation positions. The connection thread is mostly R1/8" (BSP) or M6/M8/M10 self-tapping. The matching grease-gun mouthpiece coupling (gripping-lip coupling) snaps onto the taper head. Check: a round taper head visible = DIN 71412.
Yes – as soon as grease is used regularly. Pre-filled disposable cartridges (400 g) cost around €4–15 apiece depending on the grease type. Loose grease in a 5 kg bucket or 18 kg drum costs around €2–4/kg – so around €0.80–1.60 for 400 g. Saving per cartridge: around €2–13. A grease filler pays for itself, depending on the model, after around 20–100 filled cartridges. For a car workshop with weekly grease consumption, typically after 2–6 months. Empty cartridges (Lube-Shuttle®) and closure caps are available in the range.
