Grabs, tongs & crossbeams
Drum grabs, drum tongs and drum crossbeams are the basic tool for lifting steel bung drums with the forklift. They grip the drum from the outside or suspend it by the bung opening – depending on the device type, one or two drums can be picked up at the same time. Available for 60-litre to 220-litre drums.
Drum lifters & drum hoists
Drum lifters of the RS series and drum hoists FH combine the gripping and lifting of the drum with a stable hold and high load capacities up to 1600 kg. They are the solution for heavy drums, intensive use and operations that regularly have to place drums on shelving, machines or raised filling stations.
Drum turners & drum-turning tongs
Drum turners and drum-turning tongs rotate drums from the upright into the horizontal position – or vice versa. This is necessary when drums are to be placed on roller conveyors, stored in drum racks or filled from a horizontal position. Available for 60-litre and 200-litre drums, single- or two-part.
Drum tippers
Drum tippers enable the controlled emptying of drums by 360° rotation with the forklift or crane. Various drive types are available: hand crank, endless chain or lifting cylinder. They are the solution when drum contents have to be poured into containers, machines or mixing units without tipping the drum manually.

Only lift & transport the drum?
For pure lifting and repositioning: drum tongs, scissor grab or drum crossbeam (from €242) – simple, light, affordable. For heavier continuous use: drum grab FK (1 or 2 drums, up to 1000 kg) or drum lifter RS (1–2 drums, up to 1600 kg). Choose according to drum size, weight and frequency of use.
Turning a drum – upright to horizontal?
Drum-turning tongs FWZ (from €1,496) rotate a drum from the vertical into the horizontal – for 60 L and 200 L. Drum turners FW 1/FW 2 (from €1,580) for 1 or 2 drums at the same time. Necessary for storage in drum racks, transfer to roller conveyors or filling from horizontal drums.
Emptying a drum – drum tipper
Drum tippers (from €2,224) rotate the drum by hand crank, endless chain or lifting cylinder into any position – a 360° rotation range, 300–360 kg load capacity. Available for forklift and crane use. The right choice when drum contents regularly have to be poured into containers, machines or reactors.
Which drum size?
The range covers all standard drum sizes: 60 litres (drum lifter RS 60, FWZ 60L), 120 litres (drum hoist FH, drum grab 4P-D), 200 litres (standard drum – the majority of devices), 220 litres (drum hoist FH, drum grab 4P-D). Always check the size of the drum to be handled and compare it with the device.
1 or 2 drums at the same time?
Many devices are available as a single or double version: drum grab FK (1 or 2 drums), drum lifter RS 1/RS 2 (800 or 1600 kg respectively), drum turner FW 1/FW 2, drum hoist FH (1 or 2×120L). Two drums at once halves the number of trips – useful with a high drum throughput. The forklift load capacity must cover the total weight.
Galvanised or painted?
Galvanised: lasting corrosion protection – recommended for aggressive or damp drum contents and outdoor use. About 4–20 kg extra weight compared to painted. Painted: sufficient for dry hall environments. For chemical substances or permanently damp conditions, always choose galvanised.
