Small-container & pallet trays

Flat steel spill pallets (20–60 L, from €116) with an overall height of 60–120 mm for canisters and small containers – also in pallet size (800×600 to 1200×800 mm). The AW60 series (60–84 L) is designed specifically for 60-litre drums, with or without a grating, in three lengths from €215.

Series 2000 & profile trays

Universal spill pallets of the Series 2000 (200–230 L) in a painted or hot-dip galvanised version, with or without a grating – for 200-litre drums on a standard Euro pallet. Profile trays type PW200 with a load-bearing frame up to 1,200 kg. From €306.

Mobile spill pallets

Mobile steel spill pallets for individual 60-litre drums (AW60-SR, from €401) or 200-litre drums (LPW 200, from €960) – with castors for flexible use in the workshop and the store. Painted or galvanised.

Canisters & small containers

For canisters, containers and small bottles: flat small-container trays (20–60 L, from €116) with an overall height of only 60–70 mm – no obstacle character, easy to move over. In pallet size (800×600/1200×600/1200×800 mm) for structured storage on pallet spaces.

60-litre drums

For steel or plastic drums of 60 litres: AW60 series in three basic sizes (800×500, 900×800, 1300×800 mm) – without a grating for space-saving placement, or with a grating to separate the drum from the leaked liquid. From €214.

200-litre drums, stationary

For one 200 L drum, stationary: spill pallet 800×800 mm (210–216 L) painted or galvanised, with or without a grating. For two drums: profile trays 1200×800 or Series 2000 1800×800 mm. Important: 10 % of the drum volume = at least 20 L collection volume is mandatory.

For hazardous-material shelving up to 3,250 mm in length: steel shelf trays in four standard lengths (1750/2150/2650/3250 mm) with 240 L or 1000 L collection volume – without or with a steel grating. A grating is needed when chemical bottles or containers should not have direct floor contact. From €601.

Chemicals & stainless steel

For strongly aggressive media (concentrated acids, alkalis, oxidising agents) that would attack normal steel: stainless-steel spill pallets VAW in five sizes (210–1000 L, from €1,120). Stainless steel is also ideal for the food and pharmaceutical industry and for outdoor applications with weather exposure.

Frequently asked questions about steel spill pallets

Painted: epoxy coating, suitable for oils, fuels and mild chemicals – good corrosion protection for indoor spaces, more sensitive to mechanical damage. Hot-dip galvanised (hot-dip zinc coating): the zinc layer bonds metallurgically with the steel – considerably more robust, suitable for indoor and outdoor areas, with cathodic protection even where scratched. Stainless steel (VAW): the highest corrosion resistance, for aggressive acids and alkalis, food contact and outdoor use. Considerably more expensive, but maintenance-free and durable.
Steel spill pallets are particularly suitable for: mineral oils, diesel, heating oil, lubricating oils (good resistance, mechanically robust), high mechanical loading from heavy vehicles or forklift traffic (steel deforms less), very high temperatures (over 60 °C permanently), fire-protection requirements (steel is non-combustible). PE spill pallets are better suited to chemicals, acids, alkalis, AdBlue® and lighter loads.
AW (Auffangwanne / spill pallet): a stationary standard spill pallet without a lifting device. AWA (spill pallet with a top frame): a tray with a raised steel frame – the drum stands on the frame and hangs over the tray; allows a hand truck to move underneath. PW (profile tray): a tray with a profile-steel frame for an increased load capacity up to 1,200 kg. LPW (castor profile tray): a mobile tray with castors and a lifting frame – the drum is lifted up and the tray moves underneath. SR (on castors): a mobile basic variant without a lifting frame.
A grating is not strictly mandatory, but recommended for practical reasons: it keeps the containers away from the leaked medium (prevents corrosion on the underside), enables the immediate detection of leaks (the tray floor is visible) and protects containers from direct contact with the medium. Without a grating makes sense when: containers are to be placed in a space-saving way (a lower overall height), the grating restricts the standing area too much, or the tray is used purely as a retention basin. Both variants are WHG-compliant.
Under AwSV § 24, the following applies: the collection volume must correspond at least to the volume of the largest container – where there are several containers of the same type, at least 10 % of the total volume, but at least the largest individual container. In practice: for 1 × 200 L drum → at least 200 L. For 2 × 200 L drums → at least 200 L (not 400 L!). For 5 × 60 L drums → at least 60 L. All trays offered are stated with their nominal volume – a safety margin of 10–15 % is recommended, since trays should never be filled to the brim.
The Seppeler Canistro (€1,547) is an innovative combined storage and transport solution for canisters – a sturdy steel frame that serves at the same time as a WHG-compliant spill pallet and a transport aid for canisters. Not a classic spill-pallet product, but a system solution for operations that need to store canisters as well as use them mobile. Delivery time 3–4 weeks (the only product in this category).
