Accessories for water tanks & rainwater containers Filters · connections · pumps · smart control · infiltration – from Roth
Original Roth accessories for rainwater tanks, house storage, Twinbloc® and underground storage – from the simple special seal to the complete smart control with app connection. Downpipe filter, extension-package filter, floating extraction, submersible pump, infiltration tunnel, car-driveable shaft cover and drinking-water top-up.
Filters – clean water in the tank
Rainwater from the roof contains leaves, bird droppings and fine dirt – without filtration, the quality in the tank drops. Two approaches: downpipe filters (plastic from €120, metal €280) filter directly at the downpipe before the water enters the tank. Extension-package filters (garden filter €129, ECO filter €265) sit in the dome shaft of the underground storage tank. Smart filter monitoring (€85) reports the degree of soiling of the filter basket via a sensor.
Connections & couplings
The Roth accessory range offers all connections for system integration: special seals DN 50/100, PP flanges 1", screw connections DN 50, universal flange-connection elbows 1" and 2" as well as the connection set with hole saw and special seals for coupling several underground storage tanks via DN 100 sewer pipe. The DEHOUST barrel connection set for above-ground garden butts is also available.
Water extraction & pump
The floating extraction for Twinbloc® (€152) draws water from the cleanest layer – not from the bottom with sediment. With a PE float ball, suction filter and integrated check valve. The Roth submersible pump (€470) delivers up to 5.7 m³/h at max. 20 m system head and 3.6 bar – ideal for pressure supply in the house. The garden connection set (€85) contains 12.5 m PE pipe, ball valve and hose connection 1/2".
Smart control & infiltration
The Roth smart control (€625) monitors the fill level via a sensor and free app and automatically controls the drinking-water top-up. The smart drinking-water top-up (€520) automatically tops up drinking water when the rainwater tank is empty. The infiltration tunnel package (€534) infiltrates 1300 litres of overflow water into the ground – completely wrapped in geotextile, ready for installation.
The right accessories for your rainwater system
Downpipe filter or extension package?
Downpipe filter (plastic/metal): sits at the downpipe and filters water before it enters the tank. Simple, retrofittable, for pipes DN 80–100. Extension package garden filter: filter basket in the dome shaft of the underground storage tank – sufficient for garden irrigation (1 mm mesh). ECO filter: a more extensive system with DN 100 inlet calming and a dirt-trap basket in the tank – for roof areas up to 200 m² and building-services use. For toilet and washing machine, always choose the ECO filter.
Floating extraction – why important?
Sediment, fine dust and suspended matter collect at the bottom of the rainwater tank. A fixed suction line at the bottom would pump these turbid substances directly into the house installation. The floating extraction has a float that always keeps the suction opening in the middle water zone – where the water is clearest. The integrated check valve prevents the suction line from running empty between extractions.
Roth smart control – what can it do?
The smart control (€625) monitors the fill level in the tank via a sensor (20 m data cable), shows the fill level via a free app on the smartphone and automatically controls the drinking-water top-up. This way the tank is never empty – even after long dry periods. The app also reports the degree of soiling of the filter (in combination with the smart filter monitoring €85). Ideal for fully automated rainwater systems without manual checking.
What is an infiltration tunnel?
An infiltration tunnel is a plastic hollow body that is buried in the ground and allows overflow water from the rainwater tank to infiltrate in a controlled manner. The Roth infiltration tunnel package (1300 L, 2500×2000×500 mm) is completely wrapped in geotextile, which holds back the finest particles and protects the surrounding soil from silting up. The infiltration tunnel is the ecological outlet for excess rainwater – without a sewer connection and without sealing the surface.
Drinking-water top-up – how does it work?
The smart drinking-water top-up (€520) automatically tops up drinking water into the rainwater tank when the fill level falls below a threshold – for example after a long dry period. The top-up valve opens, drinking water flows via the inlet funnel (DN 50) into the tank. The system is designed as a free outlet – the drinking water has no direct contact with the rainwater, and the connection to the drinking-water pipe via a 1/2" armoured hose is permitted under the TrinkwV.
Car-driveable shaft cover
The Roth car-driveable shaft cover (€139) replaces the standard walk-on plastic cover on the Twinbloc® underground storage tank and permits a wheel load of up to 600 kg. This corresponds to the weight per wheel of a normal car (total weight approx. 1200–2000 kg, evenly distributed over 4 wheels). The cover fits shaft DN 600 and enables the tank to be installed under driveways and parking spaces without a separate protective structure.
